Born in Los Angeles, CA to Chester and Gladys Hume, Chuck was one of five children. He was born on November 4th, 1946 and passed away on his birthday, November 4th, 2025.
Chuck was raised in a very talented home. His father, Chet, owned CE Hume and Sons Custom Cabinets and all three boys took those talents and used them to the fullest in their future endeavors. After high school, he served in the Army and was sent to the war in Vietnam.
Chuck's passions were hunting, fishing, general carpentry, gardening and working in the yard with his roses. He had much love for the outdoors and loved the history of the West which brought him to Oregon in the early 1970's. Chuck loved the North Umpqua river and was well known for his prowess in catching salmon and steelhead. He was known in Glide, Oregon for catching "The Big Ones". He spent as much time as he could fishing with his son Rusty Hume.
Chuck leaves behind his wife of 12 years, Galeanna Hume and his son Russell Hume, brothers Jim Hume and his wife Erica, and Bill Hume and his wife Cynda; sisters Bonita Yohai and Wendy Mitchell; many nieces and nephews as well as his longtime friend Bill Bart of Roseburg. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Gladys Hum e and his niece Bunny Travess.
There will be a military service in honor of Chuck on November, 21, 2025 at 1:00pm at the pavilion of the Roseburg National Cemetery annex located on the VA grounds at 913 N.W. Garden Valley Blvd.
