Michael Sean McAlpin, lovingly known as Mike, passed away on October 9, 2024. He was a resident of Myrtle Creek, Oregon, and will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his unmistakable sense of humor, stubborn spirit, and the quiet ways he showed his love for his family.

Mike was a man who found comfort in the simple things in life. A homebody at heart, he enjoyed spending time at home, watching football, and enjoying a cold beer. He was known for being one of the most stubborn, yet funniest, people you could meet. His humor and personality left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

Some of the most cherished memories of Mike were made in the simple moments spent together as a family. Among them were childhood trips to the Oregon coast, crabbing alongside his wife, children, and family. Those days spent together became treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who shared them with him.

Mike shared his life with his beloved spouse, Sherry Galivan, and was a proud father to Hanna McAlpin, Michael McAlpin, and Madelyn McAlpin. His family continued to grow through his eleven grandchildren: Emma McAlpin, Ellia McAlpin, Emarah McAlpin, Elayna McAlpin, Mythias McAlpin, Mavis McAlpin, Braelynn Pelky, Kinsley Wehr, Maisie Wehr, Jayse Wehr, and Liam McAlpin, each of whom carries forward a part of his family’s story.

Throughout his life, Mike faced challenges, including his battle with cancer. Yet, even through his struggles, he remained true to himself. When those around him worried, he would reassure them that he was okay and tell them not to worry about him. It was a reflection of his determination and the stubborn strength that so many came to know and love.

Though Mike may no longer be here to share a laugh, cheer on his favorite football team, or enjoy a quiet day at home, the memories he created and the love he leaves behind will remain. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and all those whose lives he touched.

His laughter, his stubborn ways, and the memories made along the way will forever hold a place in the hearts of those who loved him.
