We lost our good man, who was loved by many.

After three years of struggle due to a cognitive stroke, Steve Brown transitioned peacefully and free of suffering on an early Saturday morning.

Steve served as a member of the Los Angeles Police Department for 27 years, the third generation in his family to do so. He had a passion for flying, music, and restoring classic cars.

The 40-year love of my life also leaves behind a wonderful son, Mark, his wife, Cynthia, also known as our bonus daughter, grandson Mason, and his fiancée, Becca, Sister Carolyn Hoffman, a nephew, nieces, and many other relatives.

I would like to thank Nicole Berry of Amedisys Hospice and the owners of Sunny Day's, Lacey and Calvin Ellenwood, where he was surrounded by loving care that honored his dignity at every step.

Thank you, Mercy Medical Center; everyone worked so hard throughout his 10-day stay, from the ER to the discharge. You have my gratitude for his outstanding care.

Thank you, Dr. William Townsend, and your amazing staff, who were always kind and patient. My endless calls and questions were always received with caring respect and professionalism.

Steve’s memory will live on in my broken heart, the family memories, and our shared funny stories. He will be missed by us all.
